Overview
The Ramayana, attributed to Valmiki, is an ancient Indian epic that narrates the story of Lord Rama, the prince of Ayodhya. Exiled for 14 years due to a palace conspiracy, Rama, along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, ventures into the forest. The demon king Ravana abducts Sita, leading Rama to ally with Hanuman and the Vanara army to rescue her. After an epic battle in Lanka, Ravana is defeated, and Sita is freed. Rama returns to Ayodhya and is crowned king. The Ramayana emphasizes dharma (duty), devotion, and righteousness, shaping Hindu culture and philosophy for centuries.
